PEORIA, Ill -- One World Eats and Drinks in Peoria is not a new venture for our food crew, but if you haven't been there in a while, you're sure to find something new on the menu.

Long-time server Katie Longbucco says the owners, "...just listened to what people want and just started adding more and more to it."

The owners, Sam and Bob Eid, have always wanted to provide healthy options for eating out.

By this spring, they hope to have an expanded menu with more options for everyone.

"Even little kids," adds Longbucco. "Parents will have them eat vegan or vegetarian, and then up to 80 or 90 years old."

Even meat-eaters will order an occasional vegetarian meal like the herbivorian sandwich.

One customer who ordered tilapia says it's like no other in the area.

"It's always great at One World," says Jennifer Rusk. "There's always a good group of people here, and it's always a lot of fun."

And what does regular customer Katie Unes enjoy?

"Everything, I guess," Unes says. "The atmosphere and the people and the décor and the food, of course the food."

Josh Simon is revolting against veganism (something he is beginning to find revolting) with the Texas-Style Ribeye.

It's covered in mushrooms with a side of fries, so he says vegetables are involved.

Josh also ordered pasta salad and a side of cream of mushroom soup.

He said his entire meal was good, but the steak was the star of the plate.

I had the Eggplant Lasagna.

It's a vegetarian dish with a soy-cheese option, covering sauteed eggplant, marinara sauce, zucchini, mushrooms, and onions.

My only complaint is I wanted to take home leftovers, but I guess I'll have to come back for more.

Our dinner entrees with two soft drinks came to $40.32, plus tip.

"You can find anything you want," Longbucco says. "We have a full bar, so you don't have to go to just one place for that, and it's not just bar food as well. So there's just something for everyone."

One World Eats and Drinks is at 1245 Main Street in Peoria.

They are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends.
