One year liquor license moratorium approved for Peoria's downtown

PEORIA, Ill -- Tuesday night, the Peoria City Council approved a one year moratorium on all class a (tavern) and class B-1 (restaurant/ 25 percent food) liquor licenses in the 4 a.m. liquor zone.

The moratorium will allow the council time to evaluate the district and decide the direction they want it to go.

The council also voted 7-3 to allow a tabled liquor license site approved to be brought back to the council for a vote.
