PEORIA, Ill. -- Green backs will be raised on the greens this Monday to help support our country's heroes.
Wednesday night, "Tee It Up for the Troops Illinois" held a reception at Bob Lindsey Acura to help raise money for its annual golf outing.
The organization has raised more than $800,000 in the last four years, giving the money to organizations that help those who serve in the military.
About half of the money is sent to local organizations such as the Bob Michael V-A clinic.
The other half is donated to organizations across the U.S.
"We have people from our hometown based all over the country and we want to make sure that if there's a cause out there that might be located in California, or Washington, D.C., that we're supporting that cause because one of our local soldiers could be based or housed in that facility getting treatment," Chairman Steve Carver.
The golf outing will be held this Monday at Mt. Hawley Country Club and Peoria Country Club.
The outing is full, but you can still donate money, or buy a raffle ticket by visiting www.teeitupforthetroopsil.org.
