PEORIA, Ill. -- The Riverfront will once again be lit up this 4th of July weekend by the sights and sounds of "Red, White and Boom".

The 27th annual Fireworks spectacular will be put on by JMP Integrated Media with the help of numerous sponsors including Unitypoint Health Methodist.

Over $100,000 worth of fireworks will be set to a 27 minute soundtrack and launched from duel barges in the Illinois River.

"If you have a couple of barges and you can spread those out and you can lean them over a little bit, the artistic effects and the things that you can do, and the amount of sky that you cover with the firework display gets much bigger," said Mike Wild, Senior Vice President/General Manager JMP Integrated Media.

The festivities begin on July 3rd with a concert by country artist Clayton Anderson at "the Landing" stage. On July 5th, .38 Special will perform at Festival Park.
