Over 60 warnings and arrests made during Roadside Check

PONTIAC, IL – According to a release from District 6, the Illinois State Police (ISP) announced the results of a Roadside Safety Check held during the late evening hours of June 28, 2012.

The Check was conducted at Main Street and Orlando Avenue in Normal by officers from ISP District 6.  

Roadside Safety checks are designed to remove alcohol-impaired drivers, as alcohol is involved in over 40% of fatal crashes in Illinois.

And when other violations are observed during this time such as driving with a suspended or revoked license, operating a vehicle without a valid registration or insurance, or safety belt violations, enforcement action may be taken.  The following alcohol related citations were issued at the safety check:
