Overnight crime hits Bradley University

PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University and Peoria police are investigating two crimes near campus last night.

Just before 11 Monday evening, police responded to an armed robbery in the St. James Apartment Complex near 1015 W. St. James. A black male, 5'8 to 5'9", with cornrow hair pulled back in a ponytail, wearing a red baseball cap, black leather style jacket, and dark baggie jeans, allegedly approached two female students, displayed a handgun, and robbed them. The suspect then fled westbound toward University Street.

Then, shortly after midnight Tuesday, police responded to an attempted armed robbery near the intersection of Bradley Avenue and Cooper Street. A male student was allegedly approached by a black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. The suspect displayed a handgun, then fled northbound toward Main Street.

No one was hurt in either incident. No arrests have been made at this time. If you have any information on either crime, contact the Bradley Police Department at 677-2000.
