Overnight fire damages Mossville home

MOSSVILLE, Ill. -- A Mossville home is considered a total loss after an overnight fire.

Chillicothe Deputy Fire Chief Mike Denzer said crews arrived on the scene at 9504 Broadway in Mossville around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Denzer said the fire started in the chimney and appeared to be accidental.

Two people were home at the time of the fire. Both were able to escape safely. No injuries were reported.

Crews had the fire under control in about an hour and remained on the scene until 7 a.m.
