PEORIA, Il. -- The future of Peoria Housing Authority and its unionized employees is uncertain Friday night.
The PHA has announced its plans to implement the AFSCME contract on Monday.
In a release, a PHA spokesperson says the negotiations were at an impasse... And that it believes the contract is fair and equitable.
There are about 20 employees covered under the bargaining agreement.
AFSCME representatives were notified of PHA's intentions earlier this week.
A representative could not be reached for comment, but in November the union members voted to authorize a strike.
The negotiations have gone on for more than one year.
