HANNA CITY Ill -- Wildlife Prairie State Park kicked off their season of Christmas spirit tonight.

Families are welcome to come see Santa Claus along with various other activities, including arts and crafts.

Children will also have a chance to pet Santa's "Rein-Donkeys."

They held their first annual tree lighting ceremony, hoping to instill a tradition for years to come.

"It just shows that we are a very versatile park and we are able to do a lot throughout the year so people can come book events out here, see the animals. I mean they are native animals so they are used to our weather," said Santa's Wildlife Express Coorindator, Melissa Sauder.

Santa's Wildlife Express runs nightly from 5 to 9 On December 6th through 8th and December 13th to 15th.

And for the first time, this year the park is open every day over the winter.
