PEORIA, Ill -- The Peoria County Coroner and Peoria Police are investigating a pedestrian vehicle accident that left one man dead.

Coroner Johnna Ingresoll says the incident occurred shortly before 6 pm Thursday in the 2900 hundred block of north east Adams.

Ingresoll says Daniel Dismang of Peoria was crossing Adams st., when he was struck by a Jeep heading northbound.

The 48 year old was pronounced dead shortly after at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday morning.

The Peoria Police Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation.

It does not appear that drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident on the driver’s part.

The accident is still under investigation. No tickets have been issued at this time.
