Authorities have taken a 40-year-old Pekin man into custody after he broke into a home and allegedly stabbed the two victims inside.

At approximately 10:47, Pekin police were dispatched to the apartments in the 1200 block of Florence on report of a domestic dispute that had resulted in a stabbing.

On scene, officers discovered a 39-year-old female and her 19-year-old son both suffering from stab wounds. They were transported to a local hospital where they are currently being treated.

The suspect, the female victim's estranged husband, fled on foot. Local authorities, along with Illinois State Police K-9 units searched for 40-year-old Shane Rhoades, with negative results.

On October 19, just after midnight, police observed a taxi traveling westbound on Willow Street, with the passenger in the back with the same clothes as Rhoades was last seen wearing.

After a traffic stop, the male was then identified as Rhoades.

Rhoades faces two counts of Attempted Murder, Home Invasion, and Violation of an Order of Protection and is currently booked at the Tazewell County Jail.
