Pekin girl released from hospital after being hit by car

PEKIN, Ill. -- A second central Illinois child hit by a car this week has been released from the hospital.

McKenzie Wilkin, 10, was hit Monday afternoon near the intersection of 14th and Koch streets.

Witnesses said she was thrown 40-feet into the air and landed in a nearby yard.

Wilkin is now recovering at home.
