PEKIN, Ill. -- Some folks in Pekin have put up some holiday cheer in memory of the tornado victims.
Natasha Jordan and friends decorated a Christmas tree in Mineral Springs Park with the names of the six Illinois residents killed in the November 17 tornadoes.
There are ornaments on the tree to represent all of the communities across the state that had homes destroyed by the tornadoes.
"I just felt that there was a lot of people that had a lot of loss at the holiday time," Jordan said. "It's just to give them a little bit of hope that there are a lot of people thinking of them."
The Christmas tree sits alongside several others in Mineral Springs Park honoring lost loved ones.
