PEORIA, Ill -- As the area braces for the first snow storm of the season, officials are reminding residents to be prepared.

Whether it's two inches or two feet, snow and ice covered roads can be a hazard.

Peoria City officials say they are well stocked for the winter season, which is a common theme among retailers.

"All the retailers are completely stocked with materials as of right now. You really don't have to worry about supply on things," said Kelly Seed Company Employee Nick Vespa. "It is really more of a problem on subsequent snows, when it gets later in the season. That is when retailers are less app to re-order and bring in more supplies."

The snow is anticipated for Thursday afternoon.
