PEORIA, Ill -- Planning Peoria's economic groundwork for the next five years was at the forefront of a special meeting held by Peoria's City Council Monday evening.
Council members met to discuss their "strategic plan" including a variety of topics like business growth, economic sustainability and the Warehouse District.
City Manager Patrick Urich says council is also considering a downtown development authority.
This would allow the city to narrow in on certain aspects of downtown and figure out what works and what doesn't.
"What are some of the issues with how people are getting along with the 4 a.m. bars in downtown and the desire to have a more residential downtown. Do they co-exist and can they co-exist?" said Urich.
Urich also says he expects a tremendous amount of investment into the Warehouse District this year as well.
