PEORIA, Ill. -- The Peoria city council is expected to approve a new contract with its firefighters.
The four year agreement was ratified by the Peoria Firefighters Union Local 50 last month in a vote of 121 to 16.
The contract includes a general wage increase of 2.75-percent in the first year and another 2.5-percent every year after.
The contract also increases oversight of sick leave and creates a new position of EMS/Quality Assurance Officer.
The Peoria city council will meet Tuesday night at City Hall.
