PEORIA COUNTY, Ill -- The Peoria County Emergency Management Agency says they are prepared for the worst, but think most residents should be safe from flash flooding this time around.

"Talking with the national weather service they actually said that this will be scattered showers to begin with," said Peoria County Emergency Management Agency Director Vicky Turner.

"The heaviest rain might be a half inch. If it occurs in that way, then no, I think we'll have the rains and it won't flood us again like it did before."

Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins predicts up to three inches of rain could fall across Central Illinois by Sunday.
