PEORIA COUNTY, Ill -- A railroad bridge above Kickapoo Creek Road has caused driving difficulties for motorists, according to viewers.

Amy Benecke McLaren ,with the Peoria County Highway Department, said the railroad is owned by Union Pacific and said she has attempted to make contact with the company.

She told us concrete is clearly falling off the bridge, and it appears some rock has fallen off the tracks as well.

"They do periodically inspect their bridges for structural issues, and we'll just make them aware there is an issue out here that they need to tend to," said McLaren.

Richard Smith said he drives on Kickapoo Creek Road two or three times a day.

"It's deteriorating and chunks of concrete are falling off and hitting the road," according to Smith. "In fact, I even have two dents in the hood of my truck that was caused from some of that concrete falling off and hitting the truck."

Smith said he has tried to contact Union Pacific with no success.

We tried contacting the company but received no answer.
