PEORIA, Ill -- According to Peoria's Police Chief Steve Settingsgaard, recent arrests made after a Washington, Ill crime have a connection to Peoria's Bomb Squad gang.

The Chief says crime does not sit still, and that the efforts of the Don't Shoot Initiative in the city of Peoria will expand to the outer regions of Central Illinois.

"The more improvement in Peoria, the bigger the drop in crime, is good for the whole region and not just the city of Peoria," says Chief Settingsgaard.

Chief Settingsgaard says there are still some former gang members actively participating with the police department for rehabilitation.
