PEORIA, Ill. -- A District 150 teacher is behind bars.

According to a District 150 release, Peoria police arrested Manual Academy teacher Amanda Ludwig Friday night.

Ludwig, 28, of Peoria has reportedly been charged with enticing a minor for sex in violation of Federal law.

Police arrested Ludwig Friday at the Manual basketball game after being identified by School Resource Officers.

According to Ludwig's LinkedIn profile, she has been teaching at District 150 since August 2009.

A District 150 spokesman says the school immediately began investigating after receiving a tip Friday during the school day.

In the release Superintendent Dr. Grenita Lathan is quoted saying, “We commend our School Resource Officers and Administrators for the professional and immediate approach in which they have handled this investigation,” said Lathan. “The accusations made against a staff member are serious and we will continue to fully cooperate and provide whatever support is necessary through the entire investigation.”

Ludwig is being held at the Peoria County Jail and is scheduled to appear in federal court on Monday.

Counselors and staff will be providing support for students on Monday.
