PEORIA, Ill -- Peoria Police are investigating a possible shooting, but the victim and witnesses are not talking.

Just before 2:00 Tuesday afternoon 'Shot spotter' alerted police to three shots fired.

It was near the pool at the Aquatic Center on John H. Gwynn Junior Avenue.

Witnesses told police a young man, between the ages of 20 and 30, ran across the street and into an apartment at Village Green.

The man was found with a graze wound to his rear.

"He's not giving us any information so we don't know what the injury came from. At this point we can't conclusively say it was from a shooting," said Police Lt. Earnest McCall. "It's very frustrating because we would like to solve these type of incidents fairly quickly."

The victim was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

A nearby school, Valeska Hinton, was not put on lock down.

Police will continue to try talking to witnesses and looking for evidence.
