PEORIA Ill -- Peoria Police say their primary suspect for the shooting of a 17-year-old is now in custody.

Quantrey King, 18, was brought in by police Tuesday evening.

Authorities believe he shot the victim from the passenger seat of a vehicle around 3 pm.

The male victim, who's name was not given by police, was rushed to a hospital.

It is unknown where he was shot, or how badly he is injured, but police said he was conscious when they arrived on scene.

"I don't know if he got off the bus here. A lot of kids that come this way walk from Peoria High School, so he could have been coming this way or he could have gotten off a bus," said Peoria Police Captain, Mike Scally. "I do believe the student that was injured was a Peoria High School student."

If you have any more information on the shooting, you're urged to call the Peoria Police, or CrimeStoppers at 309-673-9000.
