PEORIA, Ill. -- Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White announced Wednesday that he has rewarded $11.9 million in grants to Illinois libraries.

The Peoria Public Library is set to receive a grant of over $118,000.

"Our libraries are the best and most reliable information resource available to citizens, and I am pleased to be able to provide these grants each year," White said.

The grant funding is authorized under Illinois library law and helps ensure that public libraries have some of the resources they need for expenses.
