PEORIA, Ill. -- A national museum official calls the new Peoria Riverfront Museum a great model with many learning components.

President of the American Alliance of Museums Ford Bell is among the visitors getting a preview of the Peoria Riverfront Museum prior to its opening this month.

Bell calls the collaboration between Lakeview and Caterpillar--which brought two facilities and the movie theater to the complex--very unique.

"I think this museum is positioned to be not only an educational institution but an important community resource where people can come together where people come here for events and get to know each and participate in important community activities," said Bell.

Ford Bell also says the museum will act as a town center.
