Peoria Teen to appear in court for shooting at officer

PEORIA, Ill. -- A Peoria teenager who turned himself in to police over the weekend will appear in court Tuesday.

17-year-old Anthony Harris is being held in the Peoria County Jail on attempted first degree murder charges after he allegedly fired a shot at a Peoria Police officer.

The officer was chasing another man who was a suspect in a shooting at Landmark Recreation Center earlier this month.

Harris is due in court to hear the charges against him Tuesday afternoon.
