DENVER, CO -- The Peoria community has reason to celebrate.

The River City has been named a winner of the 2013 All-America City Award.

The announcement was made in Denver.

This is the fourth time Peoria has won the award, the last being in 1989.

The city's delegation received the only standing ovation for its presentation Saturday.

Members donned "Forever Young" t-shirts and sang the classic Rod Stewart song.

The "ELITE" drum line also performed and community leaders such as Carl Cannon and Councilman Ryan Spain spoke.

Each year, the All-America City award is given to 10 communities honoring their problem solving and collaboration to address local challenges.

Peoria also won the award for the All America City video contest and Ethan Mosher won the John Parr youth award.
