PEORIA, Ill. -- A Peoria child is hospitalized after allegedly causing a basement fire.
Peoria Firefighters responded to a home at 908 East Ravine Street around 6:30 PM Friday night.
Authorities said the fire resulted from the child playing with a cigarette lighter.
No one was severely injured, but the child was taken to Methodist Medical Center for minor smoke inhalation.
Damage to the home is estimated at $10,000 dollars.
