PEORIA, Ill -- Police are investigating a home invasion that took place on the 700 block of LaSalle Street Thursday night.
Officers spoke to the victim, who said that her husband and her were in bed at approximately 6:20 p.m. She said that they heard a knock at the door and then their back door being kicked in. An unknown black male came into their bedroom.
The victim said that the suspect struck her with a table lamp and her husband with a fan that was nearby. The suspect said that he was going to "burn the place down" and then fled.
Nothing was taken in the incident. Both of the victims said that they had no idea who the suspect was or why he attacked them.
This incident is still under investigation.
