Final Peoria City Council results

PEORIA, Ill. -- The ballots have been counted for all of the major Peoria City races.

The race for the city's 1st District seat was between Gary Sandberg and Denise Moore. Moore won with 81 percent of the vote.

The 2nd District race between Charles Grayeb and incumbent Barbara Van Auken was won by Grayeb, who received 52 percent of the vote.

The 3rd District council seat was won by Tim Riggenbach, who beat his competitor Chad Grimm. Riggenbach won with 81 percent of the vote.

The 4th District seat was contested by John Kunski and Jim Montelongo. Montelongo won the race with 58 percent of the vote.

The 5th District race between incumbent Dan Irving and Casey Johnson was won by Johnson, who received 54 percent of the vote.

Peoria Township Supervisor was won by Joseph Whalen, who defeated Clyde Gulley, Jr. Whalen received 57 percent of the vote.

Voter turnout in Peoria County was reported at 12 percent.
