PEORIA, Ill -- Not long after Saturday night's "Stop the Violence March" through Taft Homes, Police say a Peoria man was arrested after firing shots at two women in the Lexington Hills apartment complex.
According to a police report, shortly before 4 am, two women flagged down a patrol officer, claiming someone had been shooting at them.
The women then spotted the alleged shooter, who attempted to flee before police caught and arrested him.
He is identified as 43 year-old Allen Gills of 2300 West Starr in Peoria.
Gills faces several charges including aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated assault on police and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Gills had two misdemeanor warrants out for his arrest.
