Peoria man confesses to robbing gas station multiple times

PEORIA, Ill. – Bond was set at $450,000 for a Peoria man who robbed the same gas station three times in less than a week.

Jerry Johnson, 36, was arrested Wednesday night during a fourth robbery attempt at the Marathon gas station on N. Knoxville Ave.

All four robberies involved a masked man wielding a knife.

Prosecutors said after Johnson's arrest, he confessed that he was responsible for all four incidents, including one that injured an employee.

Johnson has an extensive criminal history including arrests for theft, disorderly conduct and trespassing.
