PEORIA, Ill. -- Drugs may have played a role in the death of man found unresponsive Wednesday morning outside of a local Kroger store.
Derrick Summers, 24, of Peoria was found inside a van in the parking lot of the Kroger store on Harmon Highway around 10:30 a.m.
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Ingersoll says Summers was last seen alive by his girlfriend at their home on Tuesday afternoon.
An autopsy conducted Thursday came back inconclusive, but the coroner says there are indications drugs may have been the cause of death.
Toxicology test results are pending.
