Peoria man indicted in fatal shooting

PEORIA, Ill. -- A Peoria County Grand Jury has indicted a 25-year-old man for the city's latest homicide.

Cortez Williams is charged with two counts of First Degree Murder along with single counts of Aggravated Battery and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon.

Williams, who is from Peoria, is accused of killing Melvin Sanders Jr. and wounding another man during a Saturday night shooting on Stanley Street.

Williams is scheduled back in court on Thursday.
