PEORIA, Ill -- Police are investigating a possible armed robbery that took place on the 2000 block of W. Antoinette at around 2:30 pm on Wednesday.

Police responded to a call of shots fired and a black male with dreads in a red shirt running northbound with a gun.  When they arrived, they met with the 28-year-old victim.

Police say the victim was not very cooperative.  He was unable to provide names for either person that was with him and said he didn't really know them.

The victim did say that he had picked up the suspect, who was in the back seat of his car.  The victim said the suspect struck him in the back of the head with the gun.

The victim said that he, the suspect and the other man in the vehicle all jumped out of the vehicle as it was moving and ran from the scene.

Authorities said that the victim had a laceration on the right side of his forehead.

There are no known suspects in the crime.
