PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria police are looking for a suspect in a Monday morning armed robbery.

Officers spoke to the 46-year-old victim, who said that he met a woman who he only knew as "Ty" who asked for a ride home at approximately 4:00 a.m.

The victim says the woman instructed him to drive to the 1300 block of East Hillcrest. When they arrived at the address, the victim got out of the vehicle and encountered a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt wielding a handgun.

The victim said he was instructed by the suspect to empty his pockets. There was a brief struggle, and the victim was pistol whipped and again instructed to empty his pockets. The victim turned over his wallet and the suspect fled the scene.

Officers say the victim believes that the woman was involved in some way with the robbery as she disappeared during it.
