Peoria man robbed at gunpoint by two suspects

PEORIA, Ill -- Peoria police are investigating an armed robbery that took place on Saturday night.

Officers spoke to the 20-year-old victim who said that he was walking on Ligonier Street at around 8:20 pm.

The victim said that he was approached by a male suspect who had been standing on the corner of Malone Street. The suspect was armed with a handgun. Another armed suspect approached the victim from behind.

The suspects demanded an unlisted item that the victim said he didn't have. The suspects searched the victim and found the item.

One of the suspects said that they should shoot the victim for lying to them. The other suspect said that it was pointless because they got what they wanted.

Police are still investigating this incident.
