PEORIA, Ill -- A Peoria man was robbed at gunpoint while fixing his radio, police say.
Officers responded to the 900 block of S. Summer Avenue on Friday at 6:16 p.m. There, they spoke to the 35 year-old victim and a witness. The second person said that the victim came to his house after being robbed.
The victim could only speak Spanish, so the witness interpreted the victim for police. The victim said that he was fixing his car radio when he was approached by three males, one armed with a handgun.
The suspect with the handgun allegedly pointed the weapon at the victim's temple and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect his wallet and the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The witness said that this robbery sounds similar to another armed robbery that had happened in the area earlier. The witness told police that he believes that the men are part of a Hispanic gang called "Party People".
Officers are still investigating this crime.
