Peoria man robbed in drug deal gone bad

PEORIA, Ill. -- Police are searching for suspects after a drug deal led to a Peoria man being robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old victim told police he arranged to meet a drug dealer he only knows as "Chris" to buy some marijuana from him.

The victim said he met Chris on the 900 block of S. Blaine Street at approximately 10:15 p.m. The suspect got out of the passengers seat of a vehicle and approached the victim.

The suspect then threatened the victim with a gun, forcing him to turn over an undisclosed amount of cash and his cell phone. The suspect then got back in the vehicle and fled the scene.

The suspect has been described as being a black male, standing five foot, nine inches tall and weighned 210 pounds. The victim said he was in his early 20's and has a short afro style haircut.
