Peoria man shot during robbery

PEORIA, Ill -- A Peoria man was shot in the leg during a robbery that occured on the 700 block of Spring St. on Tuesday at 12:50 am.

Police spoke to the other victim on the scene, who said that he was sitting on the porch with the man who was shot.  The victim said they were approached by a black male wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and wearing a black mask over his face.  The suspect was carrying a revolver.

The suspect was looking for a specific, undisclosed item.  When he could not find it, he became frustrated and fired two shots.  One of the shots hit the 23-year-old victim in the right leg.

Police spoke to the shooting victim at the hospital who said that suspect took an undisclosed item off of him when he arrived and shot him when the victim did not have any more of that item.

The victim's wounds do not appear to be life threatening.
