PEORIA, Ill -- A Peoria man was shot in the leg early Thursday morning, police say.
Officers spoke to the 18 year-old victim who did not give officers a clear location for where the shooting took place. The victim said that the location of the shooting was the Village Green Apartments at first and then later the corner of Saratoga and 3rd.
The victim said that he was walking when he passed a black male suspect who pulled out a gun and started shooting at him. The victim said he did not realize he had been shot in the leg until after he escaped.
The victim was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
