PEORIA, Ill -- A Peoria man was shot in the calf while walking down East Illinois Avenue at 1:25 am Monday morning.

Police spoke to the 26-year-old victim at Methodist Medical Center.  The victim said that he heard approximately five gunshots as he was walking and felt his leg go numb and limp.  He told police that he saw a white car pull out of an alley, but was not sure if that was the vehicle that shot at him.

The victim then called his girlfriend to pick him up and take him to the hospital.

There are no known suspects at this time.
