PEORIA, Ill. -- A Monday morning shooting left one man injured in Peoria.
According to police reports, the victim, 35 year-old Brien Metts, said he answered a knock at the door of his residence on the 1300 block of W. John H. Gwynn Jr. Ave. at 10 a.m. and was encountered by two men.
The suspects asked for the location of the victim's girlfriend. When he said she was not present, one of the suspects started to raise a gun towards him.
Metts told police he tried to close the door on the suspects and the suspect fired upon him.
Metts was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to the right hip.
There are no suspects.
