PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria native and Woodruff High School graduate, Tami Lane, will once again be in the spotlight Sunday during the Academy Awards in Hollywood.
The Bradley University graduate will be up for her second Oscar.
Lane, a Hollywood make up artist, was in Europe when she got word last month she was nominated for an Oscar. The Bradley University graduate is being recognized for her makeup work on the film "the Hobbit".
"I was actually shocked that I was put on the ticket. There was another person that could have been put on the ticket that also deserved to be on the ticket. For some reason the Academy deemed my contributions to be worth recognized," Lane said in a phone interview last month.
Lane won her first Oscar in 2006 for makeup work in the movie "The
Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."
Her parents Roger and Linda Lane said they will be just as nervous watching the Oscars on Sunday.
"I'm so thrilled for her. She has worked so hard and she's been very fortunate, but she's also a very hard worker and very creative," said Linda Lane.
"Tami says the nomination is the big thing and just to have that on your resume, you've been nominated twice with one Oscar she's happy with that," Roger Lane said.
