PEORIA, Ill. -- Some of Central Illinois' movers and shakers got all dressed up on Thursday to make fun of each other.
The Gridiron Dinner, patterned after the Washington event of the same name, skewers Peoria's well known political and business personalities.
Developer Gary Matthews was the Devil's foil this year and the entertainment included a parody newscast including yours truly, Amy Paul and some guy named Larson.
The event's director insists there's a positive reason for all this.
"Once in a while we need to look back and see some of the things we've done ourselves that maybe we shouldn't, maybe we could do better and point it out in a funny constructive way," said Gridiron Director Lee Wenger.
One popular video showed Pat Sullivan parodying his own political commercials saying when he was growing up, his family was so poor he had to eat dirt...and barbed wire.
