PEORIA, Ill -- A Peoria Physician has been ordered to give up his medical license and he has to pay a fine of $30,000.

67 year old Doctor Stephen Cullinan reportedly retired from medical practice last year. His attorneys had settled a wrongful death lawsuit for over $735,000 two years ago. The lawsuit involved the death of a Sangamon County jail inmate who was treated by Dr. Cullinan in 2007. Cullinan reportedly had prescribed over-the-counter drugs.

He was also reprimanded for a case involving a Macoupin County jail inmate who had to have a leg amputated.

Cullinan was also involved in malpractice cases in Michigan and Oklahoma for withholding drugs from patients.
