PEORIA, Ill -- Police responded to the 1800 block of N. Bigelow on Tuesday at approximately 2:57 p.m. after a street fight escalated into a shooting.

By the time police responded to the scene, most of the participants in the shooting had fled. Authorities were able to talk to witnesses who said that a fight quickly escalated when a suspect drew a revolver and started shooting.

Two victims were driven to local hospitals by private vehicles. One of the victims, Michael Jamal Williams, 21, was shot in the hand. He was arrested after being treated at Methodist for his involvement in the incident.

Another victim was shot in the back and taken to OSF Saint Francis. Police say his wounds do not appear to be life threatening. A third man was found near the scene of the initial incident. He had a bullet pass through his shirt without the projectile striking him.

Witnesses were able to identify the shooter and police are currently looking to arrest him. His identity has not been made public.
