PEORIA, Ill. -- A Peoria woman says that she was attacked by three young men after getting off the bus on Wednesday.

The 32 year-old victim told authorities that she had gotten off the bus at approximately 8:40 p.m. and started to walk home.

She said she noticed that she was being followed by three young men, who were yelling at her to get her attention.

The victim then started to run, but was caught by one of the suspects at the intersection of Cooper and Fredonia streets.

The suspects hit her several times and dumped the contents of her purse onto the ground. After realizing there was nothing of value, the suspects fled down Cooper St.
