Peorians and baseball fans mourn the death of Pete Vonachen

PEORIA, Ill. -- Peorians and baseball fans across the country are mourning the death of Pete Vonachen.

Peoria's Mr. Baseball died on Monday. He was 87 years old.

News 25 Sports Director Lee Hall covered Pete's career as Chiefs’ owner virtually from the beginning…from his first year as owner, through four affiliation changes and two changes in ownership.

A new ballpark and a best friend who gave him free publicity every chance he got while televising cubs games.
