WASHINGTON, Ill. -- The Tazewell County Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident involving a school bus that sent one student to the hospital.
Around 3:00 p.m. Monday, police responded to the corner of Lotus Lane and Dawn Terrace in Washington. A bus monitor told police a male juvenile was involved in an argument on the bus, which led to an altercation outside.
Once the juvenile got off the bus, he struck the rear passenger window with his hand, shattering the glass. An 18-year-old Washington High School student was cut around her eye. She was last listed in good condition at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Transportation for the district is provided by Allen Transportation Services. ATS employs all drivers and monitors.
