PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria police are investigating a Monday snatch and run robbery at the Discount Smoke Shop, 121 E Lake Ave.

An employee of the business said a black male with a goatee wearing a black hoodie, ball cap, white gloves and khaki pants entered at approximately 1:40 p.m.

The suspect allegedly asked for a black and mild cigar and handed the clerk a $10 bill. When the clerk opened the register, the suspect reached over and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect threatened to shoot the clerk as he left, but no weapon was displayed or seen.

This incident shares similarties to two other robberies in Peoria over the last month. The second was at the Marathon Gas Station, 1920 Forrest Hill Ave on Nov. 11. The second was at In and Out Store, 305 Wayne St. on Nov. 21.

It is unknown if these three incidents are related at this time.
